INTEGRART 6: AVGOUSTIS z Grecji (2022/2023)
Greetings, everyone! Allow me to transport you into a year of adventures and experiences here at Klub Kultury Mydlniki. I’m Avgoustis, from sunny Greece, and I’ve had the incredible privilege of being a volunteer here. As my volunteering journey sadly nears its end, let me take you on a whirlwind journey through my year-long adventure.
Discovering Greek Treasures: The Greek Word of the Week Cycle
From day one, I had a wild idea: why not share some of my Greek roots with everyone here? That’s how the „Greek Word of the Week Cycle” was born.
Each week, I embarked on a journey through Greek language and culture, unveiling words that had no direct translation in other tongues, exploring commonalities between Greek and Polish, and even celebrating international days through linguistic lens
Crafting Memories: Winter and Summer Camp
Winter and summer breaks brought the joyfulness of children to our Culture Club. In winter camps i had the chance to do my own workshops, immersing kids in Greek culture, language, and arts and crafts. The exchange of languages between us remains a cherished memory – (it’s debatable who struggled more).
Summer camp was augmented reality oriented. Over four magical weeks, the children and I brought paintings and canvases to life through art, origami, drawings, and more. Our creations leaped off the canvas thanks to augmented reality, turning our visions into living masterpieces.
Behind the Scenes: Assisting at Mydlniki Events
I also had the pleasure of assisting with various events, from theatrical performances to concerts and picnics. My favorite memory? Dzien Mydlniki, where I lent a hand in preparation and captured the magic through photos and videos for our social media platforms.
Social Media
Together with my coordinator, I took charge of the Club’s social media presence. From creating engaging reels and videos to sharing event photos and crafting Instagram stories for workshops, I ensured that the digital heartbeat of Mydlniki never skipped a beat.
Helping other Culture Clubs I didn’t just stick to Mydlniki, though. When other Culture Clubs needed a hand with their events and workshops, I jumped right in. It was a chance to meet new people and have fun at the same time. I even participated as a guest judge at Klub Kultury Przegorzarly’s singing and dancing competition, and I was invited a couple of times on my fellow volunteers’ radio broadcasts.
Common Projects with Volunteers
Throughout the year, I joined forces with other project volunteers to craft unforgettable moments. From International Volunteer Day to the International Board Game Events, Multicultural Day at the high school, and our grand Festival Kalejdoskop, I undertook various roles, from organizing and executing events to helping conducting interviews and creating promotional posters and photographs.
Graphic design
I did graphic design creation throughout his project at the club. I utilized my skills to create posters, both for the club’s specific events and for common project-related events. I created small graphics for the „Greek Word of the Week” cycle. Moreover, I designed various GIFs for social media, enriching IntegrArt and Mydlniki’s online content with dynamic and engaging visuals.
Photography and content creation|
Iwas also given the chance to produce visual content for the club. My photography skills during various events, captured candid moments and the vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, i crafted posts, stories, and videos for the club’s social media platforms, ensuring that Mydlniki’s online presence remained dynamic and appealing.
Creating Chronicles: The IntegrART 6 Project Booklet
Currently, I’m immersed in the creation of a booklet, capturing our year-long project and the incredible experiences it has bestowed upon us. This journey involves writing the narrative and creating graphics for it.
As my volunteering adventure is ending, I reflect upon the chapters written during my time here at Klub Kultury Mydlniki, each one a vibrant time of culture, creativity, and fun. Thank you for being a part of this unforgettable journey!! I will never forget it and i will never forget you !!
