Workshops/single events

In March, Krakow celebrated its 20 years of being part of the European Union and we, as the IntegrART project, obviously had to join the party! So I organized an event with a workshop for crafting national flowers with yarn, the opening of the exhibition “euroVISION” that the kids prepared during winter camps and a family game to discover and to celebrate our union. In April, I had the honor to present me, my work in Klub Kultury Mydlniki and the whole IntergART project in an article in Gazeta Bronowicka, a local newspaper

Later that month, I conducted a workshop for kids where we planted seeds to grow all different kinds of herbs at home in honor of Earth Day on April 22nd 2024.

Celebrating the International Dance Day on April 29th, we organized a whole event with many different dance workshops and potańcówka in the evening. In my workshop, I shared my love for Discofox and taught some basics steps and figures to the participants.

Two big events for the whole team of Klub Kultury Mydlniki in June were Dzień Mydlnik on June 8th and Dzień Bronowic on June 15th. On both events, I was mainly responsible for documenting the activities and later preparing reels and posts about them for the klub’s social media. Yet, I also stepped in from time to time and assisted in workshops which required to leave the comfort-zone of English and use some Polish. Apart from that, both days were also nice community experiences, especially when meeting and chatting with people I got to know during my classes over the past months.

In Spring, the IntegrART-volunteer in Klub Kultury Wola, Mila, has started a new podcast in Jazzkultura Radio, where she invites different guests to talk about all kinds of issues revolving around culture, politics and the environment. I had the pleasure to join her on the one episode in light of the European elections at the beginning of June and used the time in the studio to exchange about the results, how they make us feel and impact us, as well as the general political atmosphere and future perspectives in our respective countries. Even though such numbers and topics are scary, talking and educating about them can – at least for me – reduce the feeling of helplessness, create a sense of community and motivate to take action!
